Star Trek: Discovery - "Saints of Imperfection"
A tale of loss and gain, this episode brings Dr. Culber back from the dead, but Tilly loses her "friend" May. We get to see the mycellial network from the inside.
Agent Georgiou returns, Section 31 returns, Ash Tyler returns - so maybe more gains than losses?
Moms Going Boldly is two moms who are Star Trek fans and who also happen to have children on the autism spectrum, talking about the new Star Trek: Discovery television series. We make comparisons to the older series, the movies, and throw in a little bit of autism when we see it. It's not polished, it won't come out regularly but we're having fun!

Star Trek: Discovery - "An Obol for Charon"
Another great episode where Star Trek boldly takes on aspects of death and then, maybe less boldly, steps away from a truly sentient prey species?
We love Captain Pike, love seeing Jett again, and are glad to see Stamets working his way back from a cartoon-esque character back the third-dimension.
Writers: Ease up on the red things, and what is that weird cocoon stuff anyway?

Star Trek: Discovery - "Point of Light"
We both liked this episode a lot (even though the Michael-Amanda-Spock storyline bordered on soap opera-esque - writers, please stop now).
It was a cool, tangled tapestry of stories, setting up intriguing payoffs later in the season, and even after the series ends. There was humor and pathos and the strong desire to see what comes next.
And we make a prediction on who the "bad guy" of the season really is...
Note: There were microphone issues during the recording - we apologize for any inconvenience

Star Trek: Discovery - "New Eden"
9.5 out of 10! We love this episode! It's a story that feels like the original series, complete with ethical questions about General Order 1; saving-the-day with smarts and technology; tantalizing clues to greater mysteries to be explored; and we ask the question: Does faith deserve to be validated?

The U.S.S. Discovery is back, and so are we!
After a significantly shorter haitus than expected, season two of Star Trek: Discovery launched with an episode entitled "Brother." We could have done with less exposition, less setting the stage for conflict between Burnham and Spock, and less "catching us up on who the characters are" kind of stuff, but otherwise we liked it. And we especially loved Tig Nogaro - we want to see more of her!

"Through the Looking Glass"
During the break between seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, Moms Going Boldly explores Star Trek episodes with ties to the Mirror Universe, continuing in story-related chronological order with the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Through the Looking Glass."
We are in unanimous agreement: With "Through the Looking Glass," the Deep Space Nine Mirror Universe episodes enter the "Silly Zone." Characters become caricatures, and there is no more evolution of the Mirror Unviverse story line. Instead, this and future Mirror Universe episodes become the comic relief for the gritty Dominion story arc to come ...

"Crossover"
During the break between seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, Moms Going Boldly explores Star Trek episodes with ties to the Mirror Universe, continuing in story-related chronological order with the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Crossover."
This episode shows us the results of Captain Kirk's impassioned speech to Spock in "Mirror Mirror" and how it backfired in the worst way possible. Yes, the empire was destroyed, but in its place the Alliance treats Terrans as badly as they treated everyone else. Still, the list of ways to get to the Mirror Universe gets longer and longer, and we are sure we are going to see more of it in future seasons of Star Trek: Discovery.

"Mirror Mirror"
During the break between seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, Moms Going Boldly explores Star Trek episodes with ties to the Mirror Universe, continuing in story-related chronological order with the original series classic "Mirror Mirror."
First we analyze the evolution of the agony booth, and the paradox of set design. Then we talk about how this was the first episode to introduce the Mirror Universe, but was the 8th in the mirror universe chronology, and that we were impressed with how well the Enterprise and Discovery Mirror Universe episodes held true to the groundwork "Mirror Mirror" laid.

How did Disco uphold the feeling and themes of previous Mirror Universe episodes? What did the episodes do right? Did they get anything wrong? And, wow! We really miss Discovery alread! It is going to be a long 18 months...

"In a Mirror Darkly"
During the break between seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, Moms Going Boldly explores Star Trek episodes with ties to the Mirror Universe, continuing with the Enterprise two-part episode "In a Mirror Darkly."
In the Terran Empire, power and ambition drive everything and everyone, and climbing the Star Fleet ladder involves betrayal, pain, and the right tools. When the new-and-improved Agony Booth isn't enough, First Officer Archer hatches a plan to steal a more advanced ship captured by the Tholians - the Defiant, a ship from another universe and another time.
