If you have not seen the original series pilot episode "The Cage," stop now, run, don't walk, and go watch it. Revel in its now-cool retro-styling, down to the humming blue flowers and fabulous velour uniform tops.

Oh look, it's Spock. Finally. Still no answers on the red angel thing and we're starting to yawn.
But wait! The "B" story is really the "A" story for us - adventure! Conflict! Science fiction! Captain Pike and Ash Tyler are sorting out who's in charge and earning each other's grudging respect. They may not like each other but they are starting to learn to appreciate each other.

We are intrigued by this story - could Saru's species undergo a fascinating change that has resulted in a cultural schism between the young and the old on Kaminar?
Oh, wait, no, it's just another slime monster story. Sadness. The writers really need to talk with us.
But we did get further information on the Red Angel - humanoid in a metal suit. Interesting. And Tilly wins again for great lines!
