Another great episode where Star Trek boldly takes on aspects of death and then, maybe less boldly, steps away from a truly sentient prey species?

We love Captain Pike, love seeing Jett again, and are glad to see Stamets working his way back from a cartoon-esque character back the third-dimension.

Writers: Ease up on the red things, and what is that weird cocoon stuff anyway?
